The large and ancient house is located in the middle of the estate laing on the hills between Vigliano d'Asti and Montegrosso d'Asti. Cascina del Tiglio is 12 Kms. far from Asti, easy to reach from the Gate "ASTI-EST" of the motorway TORINO -PIACENZA following the directions "CANELLI - ACQUI".
The name comes from the Linden Tree located in the court, easy to see from everywhere in the property which is 7 hectares large, with more than 3 hectares of wine-yard, more than 1 hectar of market garden, 1 hectare of truck-farm, 1 hectare sown and the rest garden to welcome the guests. Since 1995 the managing is by the three Nonno Mirando' sons and their families.
The Farm needs many reparation, starting from the wine-yard, more than 60 years old, where many trees had been replaced and new areas are now going to be planted, than the old cellar had been repaired and a new one is under construction; a part of the had been remade to allow Gianni to live in and the guests to be welcomed. Actually Cascina del Tiglio produces good wines, gourmand jars, fresh fruits and vegetables and grows poultry; Cascina del Tiglio furthermore gets all its products in simple, nice boxes to make presents for friends or events and sends its products everywhere in Italy and world-wide.
The ancient grandfathers' home, facing the large court shaded by the Linden Tree, had been recently remade with great consideration for the original characteristics and attention to the surrounding ambience. The first floor rooms are now dedicated to welcome the farm-holiday people: a large white room with its bathroom for 2 people and a small nice apartment where can stay 4/5 people. The rooms are furnished with the ancient home furniture and daily used objects, to remember the family tradition.
During the spring and summer season it is possible to have meals outside, in the courtyard, daytime under pergolas and Linden Tree shade, night-time with romantic candles lights.
The Cascina del Tiglio farm restaurant is open on the week ends or, on booking, for groups of 20 people at least, during the week too.
